Cleveland Fire Brigade : Thornaby Fire Station
Conversion of existing stores to create temporary Fire Station.
The local brigade were looking to move into temporary accommodation whilst their existing station was being demolished, ahead of a new station being built on the existing site. They engaged Warsett as Principal Contractor to undertake the works, which needed to be delivered within 3 weeks to enable the demolishing of existing station to commence on time.
Working closely with the force’s own Mechanical Contractor to deliver the works, we ensured delivery within the short timescale by working 7 days a week. The project involved erecting new partition walls within the existing store to create new accommodation, showers & gym area. Installing of new showers, toilets & washing facilities within the bathrooms including external drainage, new suspended ceiling - which was then insulated, along with decoration & new flooring.
There were other works undertaken at the same time to renovate smaller offices and “make safe” inspection pits in the adjoining workshops.
